and on the day, with its long wet tongue the prophetic brute and tied his palfrey to a willow lapping the fine new suit a mere change of form but for a piece of cloth, hempen cabbage ten days cut by the human hand and bearing those wicked uncles’ names the prophetic brute and tied his palfrey to a willow with stringed mobcap, crinoline a mere change of form but for a piece of cloth, hempen cabbage ten days cut by the human hand

the victim of a rose the victim of a kiss when will i vanquish my victimhood that’s what she tells me through the images in my dreams that’s why she stands at the edges of my mind staring at me unshakably determined to see me sweat it’s in her nature she laughs when i fall she cries when i heal she swings her sword knowing i have the balls to parry it she knows because she paces the outer rim of my limits setting mile markers every time i free myself from a former constraint every flag she hammers feels like a tease a double dog dare ready to tear me to shreds or bring me new life kiss a lily pick a kiss i’m sick i’m tired i’m depleted by the hand of my own pity waiting to be rescued by some gentle hand but the gentle hand of my mother is no more at least not when i’ve lost my way if i stay here i’ll just be the victim of another rose tired and dying because i let myself solidify i let myself harden when i faced its thorn but blood is a sign of fertile soil it’s time to soften against the thorn so i can move from dueling roses to kissing lilies kiss a lily pick a kiss i vanquish my victimhood

about

What Will Keep This, like a soft ask to all of us who listen. And honest in a time where we, often, let the first thing to hold our hand, hold us entirely forever. Here we’re so far from that. The elements know themselves, and are willing to let go if you do. Full reversion to itself is possible, and that’s already a lot, when a piece can do that for itself. Attempt to keep it, and you must keep it all. Each track is in conversation, always bound to the delight of exchange before the ease of being compartmentalized. After “Prophetic Brute”, the face of who will keep “What Will Keep This” melts until “Finally” the profile of an owner dissipates all together. Think of what can go back, think of peeling, think of shedding, listen and then you’re here.
